El Valle de Anton, Orchids, Panama, 2020

Our road trip continued to Anton Valley. We went to visit an orchid “farm”. It was an incredible display even though many plants were not flowering, many were. One of the things I found surprising was the number of tiny, tiny orchids. They could be so easy to overlook. The flowers on this plant wereContinue reading “El Valle de Anton, Orchids, Panama, 2020”

Playa….beach…Nature 2020 Panama

Mother Nature has been on display for the last several days. The first time we went to Playa Rincon it was calm with a massively large beach area. A couple of days ago we went when it was windy, choppy and the tide was partially in. Almost unrecognizable as the same beach, What a differenceContinue reading “Playa….beach…Nature 2020 Panama”

January 2020, Marie visits Panama

December 30 Daryl and I drove to Panama City, we were picking Marie up the next day. There is a structure being built that has the most interesting siding. Ever time we pass it, it is a little further along. It is a long drive from Pedasi to Panama City, and we only stopped forContinue reading “January 2020, Marie visits Panama”

2019, Living in Pedasi

One of our favourite activities since we have been in Pedasi is walking the beach. The sand is fine and well packed, and seemingly endless. Yesterday we went for a walk and we were the only people, although lots of birds especially pelicans. There was also this little guy. There are lots of pretty sweetContinue reading “2019, Living in Pedasi”

2019, Food and other interesting little tidbits Pedasi, Panama

We found the cutest little juice bar…. I had my first green drink since arriving in Pedasi. Daryl had a papaya smoothie. And what did we talk about, the absolute best blender for making smoothies is a Vitamix. It did prompt us to go out and buy a blender….although not a Vitamix it works likeContinue reading “2019, Food and other interesting little tidbits Pedasi, Panama”

Sorrel….and Hibiscus, 2019 Pedasi

We have a lot of Hibiscus trees in our yard. Even though the flowers don’t last long, more keep coming. Daryl decided to make Sorrel. We found a recipe on-line and started the process. First he dried some Hibiscus petals. Then added to water. Next he added orange peel, a cinnamon stick and star anise.Continue reading “Sorrel….and Hibiscus, 2019 Pedasi”

Making Changa….with verbal instructions

Where in the world can you go and your yoga instructor brings freshly made changa for breakfast. It happened in Panama…. Pedasi to be exact. This was a new taste sensation for me and I loved it. I also got to bring some home so Daryl could have a taste. The ‘dough’ is made withContinue reading “Making Changa….with verbal instructions”

2019, Playa El Rincón, my favourite beach so far

We had heard there is a beautiful beach not far from Pedasi. We drove to the little town of Mirabé and headed down a side road. We took a nicely paved road that ended at the ocean. We went to Playa El Rincón during the week. We were the only car in the parking lot,Continue reading “2019, Playa El Rincón, my favourite beach so far”
